Jing Wu Yong Chun Quan
 |
| |
|
Jing Wu Yong Chun Quan Originaly the Yong
Chun which was being taught at the UCT™ schools was Wing Tsun Concepts. But
throughout the years that we (me, Si-Fu Benno L. Westra and my team of close
instructors) have been teaching within these concepts we realised that the Wing
Tsun we were teaching was more and more changing into a personal interpretation
of the Art. And allthough the concepts haven?t changed, the way of training has
changed considerably. My team of instructors and myself have had a wide variety
of Martial Arts influence during the last few years through their respected
teachers that we decided to give birth to a new Yong Chun (Wing Tsun)
familyname: Jing Wu Yong Chun Quan. Freely translated it means: The Fighting
Spirit of Yong Chun Quan. The name says it all, we at UCT™ International train
with this old spirit in mind, in the basic levels it is not that apparent, but
when the student reaches the advanced stage, he or she will find a considerable
difference in training. As has been custom in China for many centuries, we
have decided on our own family style of combat so to speak. We are not claiming
to be an authentic WT, VT, WC style, but we strive to be an open Martial Arts
(WT, WC, VT) family where sharing knowledge is considerated to be gaining
knowledge.
Historical The Jing Wu Yong Chun Quan
system is the product of continuous research and development for over 10
years by Sifu Benno L. Westra and his close door team of
Instructors. Initially developed from different Wing Chun systems it
widened it's influence to also other Martial Arts. This sets the Jing Wu Yong
Chun Quan system apart from other Wing Chun systems. In doing so it was also
made more suitable for Mixed Fight competitions. Sifu Benno and his team will
continue to develope this system to become an important player in the future in
the world of MMA.
Benefits Not only by technical training but
also through physical and mental preparedness the students are taught within the
Yong Chun system to survive in the present world. Once a strong foundation in
the basic principles of Yong Chun has been developed by the student, the level
of self-defence skills and mental capabilities will have greatly increased. A
student will achieve a higher awareness and mental flexibility. Best of all you
will have a fun time working out in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Training Yong Chun teaches it's students a
self-defence system in it's most efficient and consistent form. The young, old
or physically weak are always the first targets of aggressors. However, anyone
without any physical handicaps will increase their self defence abilities by
dramatic proportions. With a minimum of two times a week training on a UCT™
school you will be able to defend yourself against almost any aggressor within
half a year! By economy of movement, simplicity, effectiveness and defence
techniques which come natural to the human body you will advance to a feeling of
security No acrobatic abilities and great physical strength are required to
master the Yong Chun system, because of this any-one can learn Yong Chun. A Yong
Chun student will use the strength of his/hers adversary and turn it around
against him! By developing the tactile reflexes of the human body one doesn't
have to react on optical input anymore but will instead react automatically and
safe valuable time. This way of self-defence is absolutely unique in the Martial
Arts world.
